Kidrobot Black

Meant for their “most devoted fans and collectors” with figures only being released only in super limited runs, Kidrobot has decided to create a new branch called Kidrobot Black.  From their site:

“The line is inspired by the aesthetic of the late nineties urban vinyl toy movement, with an emphasis on texture and simplicity of form and color. We have invited some of our favorite artists and asked them to use BLACK as a theme, and to concentrate on simple, elegant form rather than on elaborate paints. ”

I’m excited to see more!

The first two releases by Gary Baseman and SSUR.

Xococava

Design company Concrete created the branding for Xococava, a hotspot for chocolate and ice cream foodies in Toronto.  I’m thinking of placing an order with my BFF who lives there and is visiting soon..  cause that white chocolate and cranberry bark is calling my name.

Postal (type) Bag

Ok, well, I am not really sure of the origins of this bag, so I can’t say much about it. From what I can determine, it is a new bag made of old material by a Japanese creator.

I can say that I like it and wanted you to see it.

Makin’ it Rain

Opening tonight at OH WOW Gallery, well known tattoo artist, Scott Campbell is showing If You Don’t Belong, Don’t Be Long. Laser-cut stacks of ones put to much better use than at your typical stripclub.  Sure to be a good show!

Felt Ball Rugs

I just saw these Felt Ball Rugs featured over on Etsy and thought they were adorable.  They kind of remind me of the woven rag rugs we have around the house (which I love), but these by Krita are much more fun and quirky!

Pussycar Automodule

Ahhh, I love all thing retro-futuristic.  The Pussycar Automodule was designed by Jean-Pierre Ponthieu and described to be “The Car of the Year 2000″.  He went on to explain that  “In this world where everything is banal and ugly, we must know how to create the beautiful and unusual.”

Its rear wheel was powered by a 250cc single cylinder engine to do wheelies, but it definitely would not get you anywhere quickly.  It could however, rotate in place, in case you want to make friends dizzy and/or sick.

Best Made Axes

Well, the Canadians should know a thing or two about axes, and it shows here.

Miu Miu, You’re Killing Me

I pass the Miu Miu store on Prince St. about once a week, and every time I do I always peek in and sigh.  I know their Summer 2010 accessories have been out for a while (and have saturated the pages of every magazine even before that), but I just can’t get over them!  I just adore everything..  especially those satin sparrow and kitten pumps.   If we weren’t paying for our own wedding, I would consider at least one tiny splurge..  even if it was for only the kitty keychain.

Normann Copenhagen Bike

If we were a bike, what would it look like? That was the challenge that lead to the design of the Normann Copenhagen bike. The bicycle has a 50′s inspired cleanness, with a matte grey frame and bright green seat and handlebars.

Well hello, pretty.

Black is the New Black

There were a lot of pretty things this year at the Milan Furniture Fair (I think I went through about 12 different slideshows), but I must confess, all of my favorite pieces were black.  I don’t know what it is, but these all looks kinda fresh to me.  Or maybe I’ve been locked indoors too long.

Godspeed: 1 Hour Furniture

Godspeed is made up of artist and designer, Joy van Erven (Holland) and Finn Ahlgren (Sweden).  They use only raw and scrap material, bypass the sketching phase and create all of their pieces by hand in less than one hour.

I love the humor, fun, and practicality of their work, it kind of reminds me of a few pieces of furniture I myself have made and owned through the years.  Not to mention that they may have the greatest web address of all time..  weareonlyinitforthemoney.com

Men’s Motorcycle Boot (for jean shorts)

I have been looking at  ‘made in the USA’ motorcycle boots on and off for the last year or so, and it is surprising how difficult it is to find ones that I like.

Jackpot!  Jean cut-offs never felt so right.

Order your made in the USA men’s thigh high motorcycle boots here.

hilarious.

36 Years

Happy Anniversary to my Mom & Dad, who have been married now for 36 years!  We love you!

The 6lb Stallion

The three-day old pinto stallion, Einstein, is just 14 inches high and weighs only 6lbs!  Unlike the current record holder, Thumbelina, Einstein shows no signs of dwarfism.  So cute!

Watch a video of his 1st time outside HERE.
