Happy Long Weekend

Happy Labor Day weekend, dear Thersians!  May it be filled with BBQs, beer, and perhaps even a large body of water of some sort.

Just Married!

Well, it’s official!!  These two love birds are finally married!  We had an absolutely incredible two weeks on Saint Simons Island, GA preparing for our little DIY affair and with lots of help from friends and family, we were able to pull off our perfect wedding.

The days before were incredibly hot & sweaty, filled with more than a few Jurassic Park bugs, and we ran into some major bumps in the road, but when it came down to it, I don’t think we would have had it any other way.  The love we felt that day for each other, our close family, and amazing friends was irreplaceable and will be remembered for a lifetime.  We are blessed!

We’re planning a big post of details coming up in the near future, but we need to first edit through a major amount of photos.  Our incredibly beautiful and talented friends, Jason & Rebecca Walker photographed the wonderful day of, and we are just dying to see the magic they worked.  Until then, thank you for the warm wishes now back to your regular scheduled programing!

Hitchin’ Time

Well the time has finally come, dear Thersians!  We are leaving for Georgia today (a little over a week before the actual wedding) and are really looking forward to spending lots of time on the beach eating BBQ with our friends and family..

We’ll try to post here and there when we can, but regular scheduling will properly resume when we return, August 25th.  We’ve got some big plans this upcoming Fall (no, not babies, Mom) that we are excited to share with you in the coming weeks!  Until then, have a lovely 2 weeks and thank you for your loyalty!

xo,

Kiersten + Wes

cheers!

Not that this is any surprise, but..

I ran across this post this morning and thought it was pretty interesting.. the map below measures the distance to the nearest domestic McDonald’s in the US.  I like a convenient sausage egg & cheese biscuit more than I’d care to admit, but this is still pretty crazy.  I guess it’s good to know that you’re only walking distance to a dollar menu if you’re ever lost in the Mojave Desert..

Your Helium Balloon Alternative

I don’t know where I’ve been or how I’ve missed this, but I just found out that the world is running out of helium..?!  It’s so endangered that it could run out in as little as 8 years.

In the case of a helium balloon crisis, there is now a solution for you, created by Clementine Henrion.  These Helium Eternal ‘balloons’ are in in fact made of fabric, stuffed, and hung from the ceiling; but they still have the same great effect.  Not sure about the rest, but you can purchase the rainbow HERE.

600th Post

We’ve been so awful about updates recently, apologies all around!!  3 1/2 weeks until Destination: Hitchin’ Time, but I promise things will be back to normal immediately following..  Until then, happy 600th post!!

Worst. Airport. Ever.

I spent almost 8 hours at LGA airport yesterday waiting to leave on a flight to Chicago..  I am now convinced that a portal to Hell opens up there after 9pm.

Wes Gets a Little Older Today

Love, Sweat, and Tears: Wedding Invites Part I

The tears being tears of joy that we actually finished these babies!  We’ve received a few emails from friends & family asking us how we created our wedding invites, so we decided to do a little (and by little, I mean long) post on it.  Read on below:

Hear Ye, all Thersians, it’s summer SALE time!

In an effort to clean out my Etsy shop by the end of summer (need to make room for new Fall and Holiday items!), I’m having a summer sale on all drawings and paintings.  Since I’m getting married mid-August, I’d like to try and have things cleaned out by the end of July.  Here are some of the details:

**All original drawings, now $35 or 3/$90

**All paintings $50-150 off original price

Quilts 1700-2010

The Victoria & Albert Museum in London is presenting another awesome show that I’d love to see. Quilts 1700-2010 showcases British quilts that date back to the 18th century and features quilters  such as Bishops Court, Ann West, Grayson Perry, and Janey Forgan, just to name a few.

Winter’s Bone

Hope you all had a wonderful 4th!  I can’t say we did anything too exciting besides work, but we did get to view our neighbor’s amateur fireworks, which were actually pretty good this year!

We also snuck out of the house for a few hours to catch Winter’s Bone, which turned out to be one of my favorite movies of the year.  Set in rural Missouri, the sets, accents, clothing  and casting were dead on, and not in that cartoon-hillbilly sort of way.  Really, really good, but really unsettling.

Note to Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman, you had a lot of things going for you..  But all of a sudden I feel as though you have let yourself go.  Why do you now look like some emo kid’s skinny goth girlfriend?  And why did you trade in the bloomers for yoga pants?  I feel as though this new look may complicate your crime fighting..

Here’s my advice: ditch the blow-out, eat a hamburger, and take those pants OFF!

NO.

YES!

remember when you were hot?

you at your best

Bionic Kitty

Oscar lost his two back legs when a harvester ran over them while he was napping in a field.  After multiple surgeries, he finally had metal implants secured to his ankle bones and is now walking pain free.

I admit, I got teary-eyed after watching the short video below.
