Style Icon: Flowers from Alice in Wonderland

As soon as I saw Christian Dior’s Fall 2010 couture collection, I thought of the sassy talking flower’s from the Disney version of Alice in Wonderland.

Possible source of inspiration?

Style Icon: The Side Cast of Mary Poppins

Mary Poppins may have stole the movie, but I think the side cast had the best wardrobe. . and when I saw Jason Wu’s 2011 resort line, it kind of reminded me of them.

Style Icon: Ozma of Oz + French Macaroons + Criminal Video

If Ozma (from Return to Oz), a bunch of pretty french macaroons, and the minxy-1997 version of Fiona Apple (via Criminal video) got together and produced a line of clothing, it may look a little something like Antonio Marras Fall 2010 line.  Love, love, love!

Style Icon: My So-Called Life

This mid-nineties little gem was the inspiration for my 8th grade wardrobe, and it appears that it may be again in my late twenties.

Style Icon: The Temple of Doom

The amazing accessories from Alexander McQueen’s last collection fit right in with my favorite (I know I’m alone here) in the Indiana Jones trilogy.

Style Icon: Sister Wendy

Sister Wendy is a sassy British art critic & nun who has hosted shows on both the BBC and PBS.  Somehow, in some strange way, I feel like she and goth-designer, Rick Owens, would actually really get along.

“Never fear, Brooklyn is here!”  Marni’s Pre-Fall 2010 is channeling a little Newsies, 1992.

I just spent 2 weeks in Chicago and now all I want to do is dress in black + white and sing the blues.  Alexander Wang’s 2010 Pre-Fall Collection could make this all possible.
