A Few Things Observed in Georgia

We have so many great non-wedding photos from our two weeks down in Georgia, that I feel like if we don’t post some of them, they’ll be filed into one of our many virtual folders never to be seen again.  Round #1.

Surprised to learn that Wes had a previous modeling career in the chicken industry?

Disappointed not to see any children moving in slow motion

Still trying to figure out what the hell these giant tires could be used for

A sign outside a small antique store & straight to the point

My brother thought this may translate to ‘git-R-done’

Even the electrical boxes are friendly down south!

Just Married!

Well, it’s official!!  These two love birds are finally married!  We had an absolutely incredible two weeks on Saint Simons Island, GA preparing for our little DIY affair and with lots of help from friends and family, we were able to pull off our perfect wedding.

The days before were incredibly hot & sweaty, filled with more than a few Jurassic Park bugs, and we ran into some major bumps in the road, but when it came down to it, I don’t think we would have had it any other way.  The love we felt that day for each other, our close family, and amazing friends was irreplaceable and will be remembered for a lifetime.  We are blessed!

We’re planning a big post of details coming up in the near future, but we need to first edit through a major amount of photos.  Our incredibly beautiful and talented friends, Jason & Rebecca Walker photographed the wonderful day of, and we are just dying to see the magic they worked.  Until then, thank you for the warm wishes now back to your regular scheduled programing!

Hitchin’ Time

Well the time has finally come, dear Thersians!  We are leaving for Georgia today (a little over a week before the actual wedding) and are really looking forward to spending lots of time on the beach eating BBQ with our friends and family..

We’ll try to post here and there when we can, but regular scheduling will properly resume when we return, August 25th.  We’ve got some big plans this upcoming Fall (no, not babies, Mom) that we are excited to share with you in the coming weeks!  Until then, have a lovely 2 weeks and thank you for your loyalty!

xo,

Kiersten + Wes

cheers!

Wes Gets a Little Older Today

Happy Birthday to 1/2 of Thersic, and the cutest redhead I know!

Thanks for the freebies, Brooklyn!

Things have been pretty chaotic around here recently, made especially so with the endless DIY wedding projects we’ve been working on.  I don’t know what crazy frame of mind we were in when we decided to take all of it on, but here we are finding, baking, printing, and constructing everything from our invites, to lighting, to our decorations (w/ the help of dear friends & family, of course!)

Since we’re paying for it ourselves, we are trying to stay on a very tight budget.. So when any possible creative freebies come along, we don’t hesitate.  We decided to pass on a professional florist and keep things simple with a mix of Georgia wild flowers and a couple of our personal favorites.  Instead of buying 100 + vases, we decided to take what Brooklyn itself was offering.. free glass bottles from the 1900-1950s!  Want to find out how?  Keep reading..

Sorry we’ve been out!

Sorry for the long hiatus, fellow Thersians!  We’ve been on official ‘Ball & Chain’ business this weekend.  But back to regular programing tomorrow!

P.S.  we may even just have a little special behind the scenes peek at one of our DIY projects.. tune in to see if we’re good at keeping promises.

Love, Sweat, and Tears: Wedding Invites Part I

The tears being tears of joy that we actually finished these babies!  We’ve received a few emails from friends & family asking us how we created our wedding invites, so we decided to do a little (and by little, I mean long) post on it.  Read on below:

2nd Annual Summer SALE

Hear Ye, all Thersians, it’s summer SALE time!

In an effort to clean out my Etsy shop by the end of summer (need to make room for new Fall and Holiday items!), I’m having a summer sale on all drawings and paintings.  Since I’m getting married mid-August, I’d like to try and have things cleaned out by the end of July.  Here are some of the details:

**All original drawings, now $35 or 3/$90

**All paintings $50-150 off original price

Speaking of hot weather..

It’s been so hot in our place I’ve been feeling almost sick.  We have a tiny window unit, but it only keeps an area of about a 3 ft radius in front of it cool, and that’s usually taken by our cat, Bruce.

So late last night Wes decided to create an A/C condom-tunnel contraption that carries the cool air to where we are sitting.  It’s pretty hilarious..

Take THAT MacGyver!

Thersic Press

So we opened a letterpress factory in our studio this past weekend, printing what seemed like 1,000,000 of our wedding invitations.. but we’re still not done.  Since we have multiple colors and 10 different printing plates, we still have a long way to go.  Despite it being scorching hot in the studio and the work extremely tedious,  it was also really satisfying seeing them come out. We’re definitely still letterpress newbies, but I’m kinda proud of them so far!

To be continued..

Happy Father’s Day!

500th Post!

Today we mark 6 months and 500 posts with you Thersians! Thank you & here’s to 500 more!
